David V Hanni (1941 - 2017) David Victor Hanni, 75 of Canton, Ohio went home to be with Jesus on July 6, 2017 after a brave fight with melanoma. David was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was passionate about his love for the Lord. He loved people and made friends everywhere he went. David was born in Stone Creek, Ohio on September 13, 1941 to the late Isador and Florence (Miller) Hanni. He graduated from Stone Creek High School in 1959. David married Mary (Fischer) Hanni on October 7, 1962. He also served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, was employed by The Ruhlin Company for 25 years and eventually retired from the Frank Lucco Company in Akron. He was preceded in death by siblings Evelyn (Harry) Shaw, Richard (Wanda) Hanni, Melvin (Mae) Hanni, Alfred Hanni, Wade Hanni, and Wayne Hanni and brother in laws Ronald Pongrat, William Ellwood and Gene McPherson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, daughter, Melissa, sisters, Marilyn (Ben) Shaw and Martyne McPherson, and nieces and nephews. He was currently a member of Woodlawn Church and previously a 25 year member of Faith Family Church. Please join us for a celebration of his life on July 21, 2017 at Woodlawn Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to noon with a memorial service by Pastor Matt Coutcher beginning at noon.
