Denise M. Hardie
December 12, 1969 - February 28, 2019
Denise Hardie, a warm hearted mother, a devoted wife, and a compassionate daughter passed away after a 27 month long battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer, in her home, on February 28, 2019, in the presence of family and loved ones. Denise is survived by her parents; Jim and Carol Wagner, her Sister and brother in law Michele (Colin McKay)Wagner, her husband; Chuck Hardie, her children; Dustin and Kristin Hardie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Denise was born on 12-12-1969 in Canton, Ohio. Her younger sister, Michele, and her attended Central Catholic High School, where she graduated from in 1988. At a young age, Denise started building her wide ranging and impressive resume. She worked in many different fields of work, and always seemed to excel in each career path she chose. Denise had her son, Dustin, on 5-26-1991 and her daughter, Kristin, on 4-11-1992. Her children were always the light of her life. Everything she ever did, was for her kids benefit in some way. Denise met her husband, Chuck, at a mutual friends barbecue in the summer of 1992, when she was 23 years old. The two dated for 3 ½ years, then tied the knot on May 18, 1996. Their love for baseball, led them to get married on Thurman Munsun Stadium by the mayor of Canton. If you were to ask Denise what her passions were, she would probably say “Christ, my family, serving others, teaching, animals, coffee, and goodwill”. She found so much joy in talking about all the blessings that God provided her in her lifetime, even while she was diagnosed. It’s important to take note that her smile never faded, even when life seemed so unfair. She found a silver lining somehow. She remained so positive, so willing to help, so eager to spread God’s word, and if she was able to stop for a coffee, or swing by Goodwill along the way, that was the best day ever. Denise started a tradition when she turned 40. She made every birthday a random act of kindness day. However old she turned, that’s how many acts of kindness she would do. If you have ever been on the receiving end, you know how special she makes you feel. If you have ever been on the giving end, you know how touching the days is, and it’s an honor to help and contribute. That’s how people will remember this extraordinary lady, constantly thinking and taking care of others. We should all try to be more like Denise, everyday. Denise had three motto's in life- “I want the devil to say ‘OH CRAP, SHES UP!’ every morning when my feet touch the ground” Matthew 17:20 And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. “Not today Satan!!” A celebration of her life will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, 11 am at Arlington Avenue Church of God with Pastor Michael Gammill officiating. Friends will be received at the church Fridfay from 5-8 pm and Saturday from 10-11 am before the service.
