Karl Willms Obituary (1930 - 2021)

Karl Willms Jr., age 90, passed away at Saint Joseph Senior Living on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Karl was born in Canton Ohio on June 15, 1930 to Karl and Lena Willms. He was a 1948 graduate of Timken High School. He served in the Korean War (Army) until 1953 and then returned and married his wife in 1954. He was employed at Sugardale Foods in 1953 until he retired in 1992. He was a member of Trinity UCC and the “Welcome In” Sunday School Class. He was an avid boater and active member of the Stark County Power Squadron, as well as Teamsters 92 and Timken High School alumni. Survived by his wife Joan, sons Barry, Jeffrey, Daughter Jody Briggs (Tim), Grandchildren Mitchell Briggs (fiancé Marie Dowd),Marissa Crank (Jon). He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. What brought him the greatest joy was boating, camping and traveling with his family.
