March 17, 1930 - March 22, 2021
Marjorie G. Shoop (Miller) 3/17/1930 – 3/22/2021 “Together Again” Marjorie “Margie” passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at age 91. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Donald “Don”, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage, and by their eldest daughter, Karen Ann Timpe (Shoop). Margie is survived by her 3 children, Larraine (Michael), Doug, and Jackie (Chris); 9 grandchildren – Jennifer, Cliffton, Natalie, Quinn, Hailee, Alyssa, Julia, Justin and Jessica; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sister Betty Rockenbaugh (Miller). Margie lived a very active life. While raising 4 children, Margie proudly served the Canton City School District as an elementary Principal’s Secretary for 20 years. She worked at Lathrop, Worley and Mason elementary schools where she set the tone of kindness and respect. To this day, she is fondly remembered by everyone she met. Margie had a short brush with fame singing on the radio, at a young age. She continued with her love of music during her decades-long involvement at Bethel Lutheran Church. At Bethel, the family church, she was very active with fund raising, church social events, talent shows, and supported the entire family in their various musical endeavors. Margie loved to crochet, as she leaves her family with a legacy of warm blankets and throws keeping her family warm to this day. When Don and Margie retired, they did not slow down. They spent endless weekends Square Dancing with their friends, and occasionally winning awards doing it. They also took on mastering the art of quilting. We love the beautiful masterpieces they created for our family, to be cherished forever. We are so blessed to have enjoyed our gracious, kind, giving, and quick-witted Mother for 91 years. Margie was a loving Wife, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandma, Great Grandma, Friend, and Neighbor to so many. She was always happy to share time with you and invite you in for some spirited conversation. We were fortunate to spend precious time with Mom as she moved toward her last days with us. We celebrated her 91st St. Patrick's Birthday with the employees at Bethany Nursing Home, on a day filled with much laughter and joy. Margie was well loved by her caregivers and we are eternally grateful to Bethany for their high standards of care and compassion. An amazing woman with a heart of gold. Now that she has moved on from this world, she’s likely catching up with Karen, and watching Dad bowl a 300... ♥️ There will be a private burial at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, and an outdoor Memorial Celebration later this Summer.
