Paul H. Rose Obituary (1928 - 2022)

MILITARY HONORS AND BURIAL WILL BE AUGUST 3, 2022 10:45 AM AT OHIO WESTERN RESERVE NATIONAL CEMETERY. PLEASE ARRIVE BY 10:30 AM. Paul Hoover Rose “PR" passed away peacefully the morning of 7/5 at Allay Senior Care, he was 93. Paul was born and raised in Canton Ohio. His parents were Jefferson and Hazel (Dean) Rose. His love for his wife, Marillynn and family where insurmountable. They were married 60 years and inseparable, taking care of her till the day she passed, 10/2/2012. Paul was also preceded in death by his son Paul Geoffrey (Buzzy) who passed away on 10/24/20 in Austin Texas. His siblings have all passed before him – Frank Rose, Imogene Clemens and Francis Lorenzano – he gladly took care of each one of them till they passed, because that’s the kind of guy he was. No questions asked. He is survived by his daughter, Pam Rose Klick, whom he lived with for 4 years as the dementia prevented him from living on his own. He has one son-in-law that he loved as a son, Jerry Klick. Shady Hollow was never the same when they were playing in a member/guest! Buzzy’s wives were special to him and were good to him; special daughter-in-law’s Susann, Dana and Phyllis will always be considered family. Paul has 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Jerad Klick of Massillon (Brittany Leitzke) and Kade Klick of Las Vegas, Leah Rose Duncan of Austin (Joel Duncan), Kasey Rose Wilson of Windsor, MS (Gabe Wilson). He was so proud of all of them, and counted his blessings every day. Watching them play sports, sharing a meal, or face timing always put a smile on Papa’s face. His great grandchildren, are Jordan (3) Kayden (10) and Baylor (4), Berkleigh (6). He didn’t get to spend much time with the little ones, due to his illness, but he did get to enjoy some of Kayden’s baseball and basketball games, which he so enjoyed. His beagle and best furry friend, Jaxi, misses him dearly. After he graduated from East Canton High School, he went on to serve his country in the US Army, Korean War. He loved telling stories of these early times in his life. He put his heart and soul into his work, Food Franchises where he owned and operated fast food restaurants around Northeast Ohio, his claim to fame being the Burger Chef on Tusc and Broad. A day didn’t go by where he wouldn’t come to his wife and daughter’s business, Merle Norman Cosmetics, and run the errands, empty the trash and bring the coffee – whatever was needed, singing and whistling the entire way! Paul enjoyed golfing, socializing, playing cards of any kind namely poker and gin, card club, casino’s, fun meals, stepping out in style, family get togethers, sports (especially Cleveland Indians)… but probably his favorite joy in life was lending a hand and taking care of his people, making sure they had everything they needed. For the past year he had been living at Allay Senior Care -- a big shout out to ALL the people there from administration on down for taking such good care of him. He was well loved there! A special thanks to his aid, Christine Baker, she was by his side every day, she is an angel. Thanks to the Veterans Administration, he had the best care, they provided everything he ever needed -- truly a wonderful organization. He and his wife will be together again when they are both placed in the same eternal suite at Western Reserve Military Cemetery in Seville, OH, on Wednesday August 3rd, 2022. Time to be announced. The family is hosting a celebration of his life and his son’s life, Paul (Buzzy), Wednesday August 3rd from 5:30-8 pm at the offices of ParcherTeam/Howard Hanna, 220 Market Avenue North, in Canton.
