Rev. Philip Norman Carl Obituary (1930 - 2022)

PHILIP NORMAN CARL Reverend Philip Norman Carl, age 91, of Canton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Reverend Carl was born in Shamokin, PA, on November 8, 1930 to William and Maude Carl. He was the last surviving of their 13 children. He graduated from Nyack College where he met his wife of 66 years, Marian Rhoads. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. His life-long career of ministry included serving 2 Christian Missionary Alliance churches and 11 United Methodist churches. He is survived by his wife, Marian Rhoads Carl, and their three children and spouses, Dr. Harold and Gwen Carl, Kenneth and Denene Carl, and Nancy and Sam Gillingham, Jr., 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10 am to noon at Grace Fellowship Church, 6282 Nave St, SW, Canton, Ohio. A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Keith Stephens, will follow at noon. Private burial will follow at Henry Warstler Cemetery.
