Raymond "Ray" A. Griffith Obituary (1932 - 2021)

Raymond Arthur Griffith age 89, passed away November 3, 2021 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born May 23, 1932, in Williamsport, PA, to the late Harold A. and Dorothy M. Griffith. He worked at the Timken Roller Bearing Co. for 47 years, retiring in 1997. He started his career there as an Apprentice Tool Inspector, eventually working in Product Engineering, Design Tooling, and Automotive Engineering. He was a Principal Designer at the time of his retirement. Ray was an active member and had been a deacon of First Christian Church. He was an original member of the Christian Co-Wed Class at his church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Charles Mallette and sister-in-law, Martha Jordan. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nan Griffith; children, Lisa B. Griffith of Canton, OH and Mark A. (Lisa) Griffith of Union, KY; grandchildren, Nathan Griffith and Wendy Griffith of Union, KY; sister, Virginia Mallette of Canton, OH; sister-in-law Sylvia Giese (Brian) of Kewanee, IL; brother-in-law John Jordan of Grayson, KY; several nieces and nephews, and grand cat Toonces. Per Ray's wishes, a private funeral will be held in the Schneeberger Funeral Home, with Mark Martens officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton, OH.
