Robert Lee Morgan Sr. Obituary (1930 - 2021)

TIME OF SERVICE IS 2:15 PM MAY 25, 2022 AT OHIO WESTERN RESERVE NATIONAL CEMETERY. PLEASE ARRIVE BY 2 PM TO PROCESS TO THE PAVILLION FOR SERVICE. Robert L. Morgan age 91, of Jackson Township, Ohio joined his wife, Eleanor, in eternal rest December 22, 2021. Robert was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late Zola and Marshall Morgan. He spent his youth in DeMolay where he achieved their highest honor, the Degree of Chevalier, in addition to meeting his future (Rainbow Girl) wife! He graduated from Lincoln High School and Akron University. A proud Korean War Army Veteran (OCS Class 16-52; 1st Lieutenant), he used the GI-Bill to advance his career passion of accounting, passing his CPA exam on his first attempt. He served as an accountant, comptroller, and VP of finance at various workplaces including Sugardale, Winters Foundry & Machine, Homestead Meats, ColFor, and Shenango before retiring from Goodwill Industries. Robert was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church where he enjoyed spending time with friends in his Fellowship group. He was happiest around family and friends, especially when Eleanor’s cooking was involved. He embraced Freemasonry values in Trinity Lodge #710. Robert is survived by his two children Robert (N. Ft. Myers, FL) and Cathy (Lady Lake, FL) as well as nieces and nephews and their families of which he liked to share this advice - on choosing a partner: “you get what you advertise for,” and on driving: “never drive faster than you can afford to pay the speeding ticket for.” Robert and Eleanor’s internment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on May 25, 2022 (Time to be announced).
